  1. Installing MacMedic邃｢
  2. There are a few things you should know before you proceed with the installation of MacMedic邃｢:

  4. 窶｢    Do not install MacMedic邃｢ Lite if your hard disk is damaged,  initialized, or contains deleted files you want to recover!   By installing MacMedic邃｢, you might overwrite the very data you wish to recover.  Install MacMedic邃｢ to another disk, and then perform the recovery.

  6. 窶｢    Keep your original disks in a safe place after installation.  You will need them if you have to install your software again.  Keep your box and all documentation as your proof of purchase.

  8. 窶｢ Have a blank, formatted high density floppy disk ready.  This will be necessary to create any undo repair files.
  9.  
  10. 窶｢    Please install this software to only one computer.  If you need to purchase additional copies, please contact sales for site or multiple location licenses.

  12. 窶｢    Please read this manual in full before contacting Technical Support.  We have gone through a lot of effort to develop this guide and answers to your questions should be contained herein.  If not, refer to Chapter 18, Contacting Total Recall Software, to contact Technical Support.

  16. Running the Installer
  17. 1.    Turn off any virus detection programs.  Some virus detection programs can prevent the Installer from working correctly.  Feel free to check the Installer disk for viruses before proceeding with installation, but turn off virus protection before launching the Installer.

  19. 2.    Insert the CD labeled 窶廴acMedic邃｢ CD窶.

  21. 3.    Double-click the MacMedic邃｢ installer icon.

  23. 4.    Select where you want to install MacMedic邃｢.  Don窶冲 install MacMedic邃｢ to a damaged disk!

  25. 5. Once the installation is complete, restart your Macintosh.  Be sure to store your original MacMedic邃｢ installation disk, along with your MacMedic邃｢ box, in a safe place.  It is a violation of our License Agreement to install MacMedic邃｢ on multiple computers, unless you have purchased a multiple location license.

  27. MacMedic邃｢ can be booted and run directly from the CD in the event that you need to recover or repair a disk now.
